Experimenting with physical letterforms and using metaphorical connection to objects such as telephone wires,  Coil Slab plays with balancing tension and stability. The process for this typeface included pulling from personal experiences and incorporating the themes of responsibility, rootedness, emotional strain, extension. The process for creating this typeface included working with physical objects such as rubber bands and nails, in order to create realistic
forms. The system incorporates metaphorical imagery and experimental form making in an eight page specimen book and poster series, showcasing flexibility,
usage, and capabilities as a typeface.
